Lightning Ridge Tour
Always a great outback tour.
We enjoyed 2 nights in BrokenHill visiting Big Picture, Line of Lode, RFDS, Pro Harts gallery and Sculptures in the Living Desert
1 night Bourke with a look around Bourke, Fred Hollows grave, Back of Bourke Exhibition Centre and a Chinese banquet.
Next day Cobar Museum, Brewarrina fish traps and into Lightning Ridge for 3 nights
We visited Chamber of the Black Hand - Herman the German, Thermal pools
The Grawin and Sheepyards with John our guide, lunch at the Glengarry Hilton
War memorial and museum and Thermal pools again 😉
Dubbo Western Plains Zoo - Dave celebrated his 60th
Next White Cliffs we had a tour including the White House (underground house)
Final night Peterborough where unfortunately Steamtown has closed down, I can’t believe they have closed, it was Iin the top 10 attractions of SA, sadly because of this I fear that once again Peterborough will decline.
The country looked amazing right up to BrokenHill then as we continued it dried out.
The Darling river level was lower than we have seen in some years. The roads are definitely quieter and a definite worry, were the huge amount of locusts headed into SA our coach is looking like a Pro Hart painting on carpet 😂
All in all a great tour
